Whatever will be, will be.

Yes, "Fear is the mind killer."
Fear hems us in and enables us to bind ourself to all sensable openness and compassion.
False, evidence, appearing, real.
We believe what we want to believe, always!
It is better to remain open minded, receptive, aware, alert, and willing to see what is.
First that means, seeing ourself as what we are not, and releasing the false idols we have set ourselves up to be.
It is difficult to see what is true when we cannot face and see what is false.
The center of all understanding is "I."
But these are words and not reality itself!
Idols come in many forms; and letters, numbers, etc, are such forms.

By the way, has everyone checked out the book "The book of Mirdad?"
If not, what are you waiting for? View whatever you can of it online.
Then find it and buy a copy, read it. You will be extreemly happy you did.

Have you noticed how the government seems bent on getting everyone into a fear frenzy?

Howdy Clark!

So I ended up buying into his mp3's 16 of them. Not a bad price $49 for (16) sixteen one hour talks. Today I listened to two

His first one is titled "Choose to live the incomparable life ~ being fearless and free." He brought up the analogy of the tailors in this one again. So he starts off...

"Anytime that there is fear in your life it's because of what you value. Fear is part of your present value system"

"You can never ever know what a fearless life is until you learn to value YOU"

"You presently do not value YOU. What you presently value is what makes you feel valuable. This is not the same as valuing yourself."

Our mindset is to go out , find people, positions, and power. Through those things a derivative sense of worth is developed. So the intention in a moment is to shine as brightly as one can. Not because one values themselves but one values being seen by others as being worthwhile in such a moment.

He then continues on with how we are so captured into comparing and how much we loose and destroy our self worth.

I really like hearing him speak. He is very easy to follow.

I will l look into "The book of Mirdad"

This site has a lot of different stuff on it. Some of it is pretty far out there IMO but a lot of it is interesting. This interview with Guy Finley is pretty good.

Larry~~

Thank you very much for posting that link. I just got done watching it. There was not one bit of anything he said that was of no interest. I am hooked on this man. My whole weekend has been touched by him. I like that he repeats himself several times so as to understand him what he is actually saying. Though every minute of his interview was valuable to me I especially liked when he talks about letting go and about the dark energy (fear, anxiety). We are to be the light of awareness. To be that active light that enters into that passive darkness and then the darkness is changed~~

He has a lot of free stuff at his website www.guyfinley.org for anyone that wants to take a peak.

One again I highly recommend his latest book "The Essential Laws of Fearless Living." I ordered his MP3's only because I can read/listen on the go.

QSS,

I bought his book and started to read it. I just wasn't that impressed with his writing. I found his suggestions/recommendations and even his philosophy to be pretty basic and somewhat shallow. I don't know why but I just didn't get excited from his book. I felt the things he said were repeats of things I've heard in other self-help books but packaged a bit differently. I don't know. Just didn't do it for me. But with that said, that doesn't mean he isn't eveything you mentioned about him. I just didn't get that excited with the knowledge he was sharing.

I just finished Secrets of the Light by Damion Brinkley. That was ok. But nothing compared to Lessons from the Light by Kenneth Ring. I will definitely re-read that book.

I"m in between books and looking for a good one to read. Just haven't found one that grabs me yet. But when it appears, I'll be ready.

MySpirit,
I'm looking fwd to the release of Richard Wiseman's new book "59 Seconds" to be released in January 2010 in the US (it's already out in the the UK and Australia). Here's a link:
http://www.randomhouse.com/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780307707550

Also, I visited Life of Learning Foundation in Merlin, OR a few weeks ago. I had the chance to meet Guy and listen to him speak. I love his work and philosophies on Truth and the nature of our minds. Fascinating stuff I think..

Paul,

I'd be interested in your review of the book "59 Seconds" when you are finished with it. As you know, self-help books are a dime a dozen these days. Seems like if you have a way to approach self-help from a different angle, a book will be written about it. Eventually we all have to fish or cut bait. My bookshelf is full of self-help books yet I keep searching. My thirst for knowledge is insatiable and therefore I am constantly on the lookout for good books that will teach me something about life and Spirit.

Hi Paul,

You can get quite a lot of the book here http://59seconds.wordpress.com/ Richard Wiseman has a prefessorship in Public Understanding of Psychology and writes a very easy to read book. He has gone through all the scientific research and come up with what works e.g.

"You might also enjoy these ten scientifically proven tips to a happier life…

1. Meet up with a friend that you haven’t seen for a while.
2. Watch a funny television programme or film.
3. Exercise for about thirty minutes three times a week.
4. Cut your television viewing by half.
5. Distract yourself with a book (personally, I would recommend ‘59 Seconds’!)
6. Create novel challenges by starting a new hobby, joining an organisation, or learning a new skill.
7. Go for a 20 minute walk in the sun.
8. Spend ten minutes listening to relaxing or uplifting music.
9. Stroke a dog.
10. Don’t listen to the news."

Of course it may sound all too easy but then the hard bit for most people is not reading it but putting it into action. I found the sections on writing to be very interesting.
Cheers

MS~~
My apologies I need to correct something here. I did not order the book "The Essential Laws of Fearless Living." in MP3's so I really didn't mean to make a recommendation of that. However, I'll take your review. What I did get where his Mp3 Being Fearless and Free. His talks are superb.

Now like you I have been around the block a few times. There are a lot of ppl out there saying the same things differently. AND that is okay because not everyone is a match. BUT these talks that Guy has out there are presented totally different that help me get things that I didn't get from others. I still recommend them. He uses quite a bit analogies to finally make sense for some of us ;)

Now a few of you have started to talk about some other good stuff so I am going to add on here. A couple of months ago this life coach was advertising a free coaching seminar for 10 weeks. I stumbled upon him thru my local county on linkedin. Anyway 6 of us became his pilot program to learn how to work with his program called "My Life Is Working" He just launched his "FREE COACHING SITE" site and I would like for you guys to check it out and see if it might work for you ~~ http://www.doityourselflifecoach.com/

Who knows? Its just might be worth a hit!

QSS,

I think I may have implied I heard him speak but I havent'. So I can't speak to his oratory capabilities. I was just making a general statement about Guy based on some of his book I read. I just couldn't get thru the book because it just seemed a bit to elementary for me. But maybe that's because I've read so many that I drew a comparison in my mind. I'll try to listen to the MP3 and maybe I'll draw a different conclusion. It would be the fair thing to do. And besides, I always learn something, no matter what I read.

Btw, a great, simple one to add to that list of ten mentioned above would be:
1. Journal for 20 minutes (or 3 full pages) of non-stop, longhand writing right when you wake up...no stopping, no judging your writing, just 'dump' on the page with your pen, stream of consciousness writing.

(I'm taking this class every Monday night called the Artist's Way and this is one of the greatest exercises the course teaches. So healthy! The excercise name is called "Morning Pages")
